In this course, you will learn about the features, requirements, and design principles of termbases. You will need this knowledge before learning how to create a termbase, which is the next course. For demonstration purposes, we will use TermWeb as the TMS. After the course, you will complete a quiz to test your knowledge.

The following acronyms are used:

  • ATE – Automatic Term Extraction
  • CA – Controlled Authoring
  • CAT – Computer-Assisted Translation
  • SL – source language
  • TL – target languge
  • TM – Translation Memory
  • TMS – Terminology Management System
  • SEO – Search Engine Optimization

Note that these acronyms are also used for the plural form, e.g. TMS, not TMSs, for Terminology Management Systems.
